The host of Heart FM Breakfast, Amanda Holden, has brazenly said that the British people “don’t care” about the antics of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Holden commented during her broadcasting job in response to Graham Norton’s assertion that all people want is for the Sussexes to “live their lives” in Montecito, California.
The 61-year-old TV icon asked how much the typical UK citizen worries about Harry and Meghan’s life in the US on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live.
He emphasized how their behavior contrasts sharply with Prince William and Kate Middleton’s apparently flawless public persona, according to the Mirror.
Norton earlier expressed doubt on the extent of public interest in a clip from a 2023 interview, asking, “Do average people care that much? They don’t, in my opinion. I believe they simply believe that you should let them live.”
Holden agreed, citing Norton’s past findings, and said, “I think you’re right,” on the radio this morning. I believe that while the media overplays it, none of us are truly concerned.”
Jamie Theakston, a fellow broadcaster, agreed, stating, “I think we don’t care that much.”
After their highly publicized departure from Frogmore Cottage in 2020, the royal couple moved to the US and are now living independently of the Royal Family.
Following their departure, the Sussexes have been under intense media scrutiny for a number of reasons, including Harry’s controversial memoir Spare and their frank Netflix documentary series Harry & Meghan.
Meghan Markle has also ventured into business with her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, eagerly anticipating the launch of its potential hit product – a rose wine.
The former Suits actress is set to join the ranks of celebrities like Kylie Minogue, Brad Pitt, and Sarah Jessica Parker who have launched their own alcoholic beverages.
