Charles Lester III, a current cornerback for Florida State and a former four-star recruit, was taken into custody on Monday morning on suspicion of DUI. Nick Kosko of On3 Sports reports that he was freed soon after the detention.
Lester made two appearances with the Seminoles during his rookie season and was a four-star cornerback prospect in the class of 2024. Lester broke up one pass and recorded three tackles during those games. The school has not yet announced any disciplinary actions.
After a protracted recruitment campaign, Florida State was able to retain Lester in the state. According to On3 Sports, he was the eighth-ranked cornerback and the tenth-ranked player overall in the Class of 2024 when he graduated from Florida. The Seminoles were certainly thrilled to have Lester on the team going forward, despite the fact that he didn’t gain a lot of on-field experience the previous season.
