Kevin Knox just finished a season in which he played in 31 games for the Detroit Pistons, including 11 starts.
He shot 46.2% from the field and 33.0% from three-point range, averaging 7.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Knox presently plays for the Santa Cruz Warriors in the G League.
The Golden State Warriors intend to sign Knox to a 10-day contract, according to a story published on Friday by Anthony Slater of The Athletic.
Via Slater: “According to sources, the Warriors plan to sign Kevin Knox to one of their open roster spots after the All-Star break. 10-day agreement. In Santa Cruz, Knox averages 19.1 points and 7.3 rebounds. The organization is eager for him to return to the summer league. An exceptionally large scoring wing.
Knox, a Kentucky native, was selected ninth overall in the 2018 NBA Draft.
He has played for the Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers, Atlanta Hawks, and New York Knicks for six seasons.
In 306 games, the 26-year-old has shot 39.2% from the field and 34.1% from three-point range, averaging 7.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
On January 20, via NBA G League: “Tonight, Kevin Knox was fantastic for the Warriors! The former NBA veteran tied his career high with a scorching 39 points. He now averages 25.8 points per game during the regular season, and this is his fourth game of the season with 30 or more points.
With a 28-27 record in 55 games, the Warriors were ranked 10th in the Western Conference going into the All-Star break.
