Arkansas’s Fayetteville — The Arkansas team’s weekend schedule for the three games in Arlington, Texas, has been revealed. Tonight’s game versus Kansas State will be started by righty Gabe Gaeckle. Against Kansas State on Saturday, Zach Root starts. Against Michigan on Sunday, Gage Wood starts.
Landon Beidelschies will start in the bullpen, a position he hasn’t held since his freshman year at Ohio State in 2023, as the Razorbacks will only be playing three games as opposed to the four they played versus Washington State. Last season, he made 15 appearances for the Buckeyes, all of which were starts.
Beidelschies added, “I’ve done it before,” as he emerged from the bullpen. “Any chance to don the Hogs shirt and throw is something I don’t take for granted. I’m eager to continue no matter what.”
Beidelschies could be a multi-inning relief if he didn’t start, as coach Dave Van Horn has previously suggested.
Van Horn stated, “If Beidelschies is not starting,” on February 3. “He could pitch the eighth and the ninth and go eight and nine.”
As Wood moves from being a high-leverage bullpen arm to a possible full-time weekend starter, Van Horn has also praised his progress and development as a starter.

“Wood is a lot better [than when he first got to campus],” Van Horn stated. “His mentality and arm are better. We have somewhat calmed him down. Although he still gives it his best in an inning, he doesn’t do it like he used to. Although it’s entertaining to observe his cerebral growth, he is a strike-thrower.
As he begins his third season with Arkansas, the Batesville native claims that he has improved his ability to control his body during a game.
“It’s really just stamina,” stated Wood. “Having the capacity to hold your belongings for five, six, or seven innings. Anything they ask me to do.
