On January 14, 2025, LSU and Arkansas faced off in Baton Rouge, and the Tigers prevailed 78-74. With 28 seconds remaining, Arkansas narrowed the gap to two points, but Jordan Sears made two free throws with 21 seconds remaining to give LSU the victory. The victory was largely due to LSU’s general effectiveness at the free throw line. Arkansas was only 11-of-13 at the line, while the Tigers went 26-of-28, with Cam Carter making all 10 of his. There were a lot of runs in the game. First, the Tigers gained their first lead and moved up 40-39 after LSU ended the first half and started the second half with a 22-8 run. With an 11-0 run in response, Arkansas took a 50-43 lead. LSU, however, recovered with a 20-3 run and took a 64:55 lead with 6:07 remaining. Boogie Fland then scored nine baskets in a row for Arkansas, reducing the Razorback deficit to three points, 68-65. Later, with the Hogs behind seven points, Trevon Brazile sank a 3-pointer and Adou Thiero made two free throws to cut the deficit to two, 76-74, but Sears’ two free throws clinched the victory.
