This past Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40–22 in the Super Bowl, and seven former Alabama players got their first rings.
2020 Rimington Trophy winner and three-time NFL Pro Bowl offensive guard Landon Dickerson is one of these Crimson Tide products. During Friday’s Eagles Super Bowl parade in Philadelphia, the CFP National Champion gave a forceful, inappropriate speech. The complete transcript is available here; it would definitely be better to yell every word as you read it, just like Dickerson did.
“Philly, how are we doing today? Please give Nick Sirianni, Howie Roseman, and Jeffrey Lurie a round of applause! This team would not have been possible without them, and this would not have been possible without all of you fans—here, in Delco, Montgomery County, Chester County, throughout P.A., [New] Jersey, and throughout this nation!
“I’ll be honest with you: everyone said that playing in Philadelphia was impossible when I was draughted here. I discovered that all you want is for us to offer this city everything we have, and you will return the favour! I can’t express how much we value each and every f–––ing game, whether it’s on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, or any other day. I don’t believe I’ve ever played an away game in my career.
“Man, these guys have gone above and beyond for everyone, and I can’t express how thankful I am for all of my teammates out here. We’ve been through so much this year. It was about the entire team, not just one person. Even though we’ve experienced some shit, it doesn’t matter. Baby, we hauled that Lombardi home!
How much it means to me and all the guys on this squad is beyond words. I’ve never seen anything like the city and all of its support. And as of right now, I can assure you that no other fan base in this nation can compare to what we do.
“Man, there aren’t even enough words to express how joyful I feel at the moment. I didn’t want to experience that s––t ever again after losing to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in ’22. It was an awful sensation. But what do you know? Baby, we don’t have to feel it today! One final thing before I go: “Go F–––ing Birds!”
