The Ohio State Buckeyes’ offensive line has undergone a total rebuild following a season marred by injuries in 2024–25. This offseason, head coach Ryan Day signed four-star tackle Carter Lowe and acquired other tackles through the transfer portal, including Ethan Onianwa and Phillip Daniels.

Day and his coaching staff are pursuing Darius Grey, the top interior offensive lineman in the 2026 recruiting cycle, in addition to this year’s freshmen.

Grey, who stands 6 feet 3 and weighs 285 pounds, has amazing athleticism for his stature, as evidenced by his run blocking performances from the previous season. The highly-regarded prospect ended his junior season with eight sacks and two forced turnovers on defence in addition to excelling on the offensive line.

Chad Simmons of On3 Sports claims that Grey has already made six trips to Columbus. The Virginia native also commended the program’s atmosphere when questioned about his time at Ohio State.

Experts are now starting to forecast that the five-star phenom will sign to LSU, despite Gray’s good comments about his travels. On3 RPM has the Tigers a 50.1% chance, while Steve Wiltfong of On3Sports has the Tigers as his expert pick for Grey. According to the same model, South Carolina is at 31.9 percent and the Buckeyes are at 3.2 percent to land Grey.

On June 11, a crucial day for the Buckeyes, Grey will travel to Columbus. Following his visit, he will travel to South Carolina on June 20 and LSU on June 13.
