Tyler Batty, a defensive end at BYU, was not selected in the NFL Draft on Saturday. Following the draft, Batty signed an undrafted free agency contract with the Minnesota Vikings.
Batty attended BYU for five years. 34 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 interceptions were among his 224 tackles during his career.
From 2021 to 2024, Batty was BYU’s most reliable pass rusher. He produced 143 QB pressures throughout his time at BYU, according to PFF. He raised his QB pressures each year at BYU.
In 2025, BYU will take over Batty’s large shoes. The Cougars have accumulated defensive end talent over the past two recruiting cycles, which is fortunate for BYU supporters. To replace Batty’s output in 2025, BYU will look to former sought-after recruits like Hunter Clegg, Tausili Akana, Kini Fonohema, Ephraim Asiata, and Viliami Po’uha.
