Otega Oweh will soon have to decide whether or not he is prepared to make a choice. The standout guard for Kentucky is torn between returning to the shore as a Wildcat in Lexington or going straight to the professional ranks. He has to finalise his plans by Wednesday, May 27 at 11:59 p.m. ET, but it’s getting close after an outstanding performance at the NBA draft combine and continued rehearsals before the withdrawal deadline.

Before the All-SEC talent needs to make a move, which way is he leaning 24 hours and change? Matt Norlander of CBS Sports claims that it might be closer than people believe.

In the Eye on College Basketball Podcast on Tuesday, Norlander made the same prediction as many others: a return to Kentucky. However, he also mentioned that Oweh’s recent feedback has been extremely good, which has given him something to think about.

In the last four or five days, Otega Oweh has reportedly received some incredibly positive responses,” he stated. At one point, I believed that he would virtually certainly return to Kentucky. I would still predict that he returns to Kentucky, but it seems like his recent return has been positive. So we’ll have to wait and see.

In addition to the update, some of the top players in college basketball have announced their plans to return to school before tomorrow’s withdrawal deadline. Yaxel Lendeborg (Michigan), Alex Condon (Florida), Milos Uzan (Houston), Karter Knox (Arkansas), Mackenzie Mgbako (Texas A&M), and PJ Haggerty (Kansas State) are a few of the players that chose to forgo draft riches outside of the lottery in favour of large NIL payouts.

If Oweh chooses to withdraw his name from the draft by Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. ET, he surely has one of those waiting for him in Lexington. Is his stock high enough to decline that now instead of trying to get into the NBA at this time next year? In any case, we won’t have to wait long to find out.
