Over the weekend, Rodrigo Blankenship, a former standout kicker for the Georgia Bulldogs, extended his undefeated season with the St. Louis Battlehawks. Blankenship is making a compelling case for a comeback to the NFL after making 16 of 16 – goal tries.

In the UFL, Blankenship kicked two field goals (53 and 44 yards) as St. Louis defeated the Memphis Showboats 19–9. It has not been simple for Blankenship to make 16 field goals. He has made 16 kicks, 12 of which are from more over 40 yards. He has made a career-long 56-yard kick and is five out of five on kicks over 50 yards.

Blankenship is deserving of another NFL opportunity. This season, he has demonstrated precision and consistency. Additionally, recent rule changes in the NFL have made it less crucial to record touchbacks on kickoffs, one of his shortcomings.

Blankenship’s precise kicking is a major factor in the Battlehawks’ 5-2 record. The UFL’s best record belongs to St. Louis (tied).
