The Philadelphia 76ers are 3-0 on the season following an October 24 victory over the Knicks and are preparing for a November 10 game in Boston against the Celtics, star forward and defensive stopper Jaylen Brown’s former team. Jayson Tatum, Brown’s former teammate, denied “having beef” with the 76ers player, who has helped his club rebound from LeBron James’ injury.

Brown met with the media regarding Tatum’s “no beef” remarks, during which he smoothed over and addressed the situation.

“I didn’t see the whole thing, but I saw what he saw, which is ‘no beef,’ and he’s right. You know, Jayson comes from a great family, we’ve accomplished some great things, he’s a great basketball player, we have a hell of a public relations team, there’s no beef, but there might be a little lamb chops and some gravy, we have to be ready at all times.

“No beef, it should never, ever be that, it’s just basketball, we both blessed,” Brown said. “We both got so much stuff in front of us.”

The 76ers will face Cade Cunningham and the Pistons on October 25 in Philadelphia, one day after Tyrese Maxey scored 28 points in a 106-100 away victory over the New York Knicks. Maxey has had a public disagreement with Stephen A. Smith over comments Smith made regarding his time with former coach Doc Rivers that have sparked controversy.

Nick Nurse’s 76ers are putting together the pieces far earlier than most fans anticipated, with an unbeaten record on the line against JB Bickerstaff’s Pistons on Sunday. Brown and Tatum’s animosity can wait until November, but for the time being, the 76ers are putting up their best effort to differentiate themselves from other competitors.
