Keelon Russell threw two of his three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter, helping No. 13 Alabama pull away late for a 31-20 victory over Texas A&M on Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Russell, who had one touchdown throw and two interceptions in his previous two games, finished with 311 yards passing and one interception for the Crimson Tide (6-2, 4-2 Southeastern Conference).

With standout wideout Ryan Coleman-Williams out for the second consecutive week, Rico Scott stepped up with six catches for 156 yards to help Alabama stop a two-game losing streak.

The Crimson Tide triumphed despite kicker Conor Talty missing two of his three field goal attempts after making 15 in a row.

Marcel Reed completed 14 of 21 passes for 163 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions for Texas A&M (4-4, 1-4), which has already lost as many SEC games this season as it had the previous two seasons combined.

KJ Edwards led the team with 43 rushing yards, and Mario Craver had six catches for 45 yards and a touchdown for the Aggies.

Texas A&M took a 20-17 lead with a 25-yard field goal from David Olano on the first possession of the second half, but Talty missed his second field goal with 5:36 remaining in the third quarter.

However, when the Aggies failed to convert a fourth-and-1 at their own 45 on a Reed fumble, Alabama capitalized, regaining the lead on the opening play of the fourth quarter with Russell’s 5-yard toss over the middle to Malachi Pritchett.

The Crimson Tide defense made another stop, and Russell hit Kaleb Edwards for an 8-yard touchdown with 10:01 left to make it 31-20.

Alabama outperformed Texas A&M 102-15 in the fourth quarter.

Reed got off to a bad start when the Aggies’ first two possessions resulted in interceptions, one of which Dijon Lee Jr. returned 39 yards for a touchdown.

Reed recovered by spearheading successive scoring drives. Reed sealed the first with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Craver, followed by a 4-yard rushing touchdown to give his team a 14-10 lead with 10:14 remaining in the first half.

Alabama recovered the lead when Russell connected with Daniel Hill for a 3-yard touchdown, but an interception on the Crimson Tide’s next possession gave the Aggies a short field, allowing David Olano to kick a 32-yard range goal to tie the game at 17 going into halftime.
