It is recommended that the Houston Texans acquire a key player from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Over the past few months, the Houston Texans have retooled their offensive line, which was among the worst in the NFL the previous season, and overhauled their receiver corps.

But there is still a lot of space for the Texans to get better. Despite the new arrivals, the offensive line is still riddled with doubts, and the receiving corps is largely unproven. It’s also crucial to remember that Houston traded Laremy Tunsil, a top tackle.

Given that Week 1 is quickly approaching, the Texans are most likely finished with big offseason changes. However, it’s never too early to begin planning for the future.

Not unexpectedly, Houston’s offensive line was listed as one of the NFL teams’ top needs for 2025 in an article written by Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report. Ballentine believes the Texans should target Dylan Parham of the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency next March, even if he didn’t name anyone for the team this season.

“It would be hard to believe the Raiders are going to let Dylan Parham leave the building, but the Texans should be first in line with an offer if they do,” Ballentine stated. “The 25-year-old has established himself as a dependable starter and is in the last year of his rookie contract. Since the Raiders selected him in the third round of the 2022 draft, he has started all but two games.

The Texans need Dylan Parham more than anything else.

Although pass protection was the Texans’ offensive line’s main weakness last season, the line was mediocre overall, and Parham would undoubtedly help address those shortcomings.

At Pro Football Focus in 2024, the former third-round pick received a 74.3 overall score and a 75.6 run-blocking grade.

Going into 2025, Houston is expected to start Laken Tomlinson and Tytus Howard, a natural tackle, at guard, which does not exactly give them much confidence.

Although there are clearly a lot of moving factors for Houston and nothing is truly set in stone, the Texans signed tackle Cam Robinson in free agency and also selected fellow lineman Aireontae Ersey in the second round of the draft back in April.

Parham would therefore be a fantastic addition to the Texans’ offseason roster. He would immediately help Houston in the trenches and has already shown himself to be a reliable interior presence. Naturally, Parham’s price tag will be the primary concern.
